The year’s about to end and it’s just a little more than a month since I started this blog. I first decided on starting a food blog closer to the beginning of the year, but other little side projects, travels and all sorts of things delayed me. But here I am, finally having started it. I’m hoping I’ll keep upping my game in the coming year — I know this is one of a million food blogs out there and I know there are improvements I have to make to it too, but it’s a fun side project that I’d like to do good things with.
Of course, since this is a side project, it means I’m keeping up with my other hobbies. Just like last month, here’s a little roundup of what I’ve been up to from a pop culture perspective. No concerts this time, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t other interesting things out there to do:
Star Wars and the Power of Costume – Even though this meant venturing into Midtown Manhattan on a weekend — gasp — I was all about checking out this costume exhibit as Star Wars fever hit us all. Aside from it being a little pricey for what it was, I really enjoyed this exhibit, which featured costumes from all the Star Wars movies (prequels and the current film included). There was a heavier emphasis on Natalie Portman’s costumes, but then again Padme Amidala did have a lot of outfits. And let’s face it — those costumes were definitely one of the more positive parts of the prequels. There was also a hefty array of blasters and similar props at the exhibit and I’m glad I braved the crowded streets to go see it….
