I’m Radhika — “Rad” to friends — and this is my food blog, which also incorporates my love of pop culture by offering a song pairing with each recipe. There’s no official theme behind the food in this blog, though if you’re looking for seafood, beef or anything overflowing with tomatoes, this may not be the best destination for you.
I didn’t really start doing a whole lot of cooking until grad school a few years ago, which means my desire to learn how to cook was mostly survival based. My initial attempts to prepare anything beyond eggs included cookies and cakes. After making tandoori chicken for a party, I started growing more adventurous and realized I enjoyed cooking, finding it a practical and creative outlet.
The food I plan on presenting here includes old favorites, as well as new culinary adventures. I will also include a number of Indian recipes as I try to learn more of the family repertoire. Due to being a journalist by day and hobbyist by night, there will be non-recipe posts from time to time, including those on travel (with the focus still on food) and a monthly “Rad Reads” post (which talks about what I’m reading). I hope you like what you see.
